Access to laundry facilities varies per trip. Check your accommodation websites to see what services may be available during your stay. Laundry will be more easily accessible when you have a two-night stay in one hotel, as it’ll allow the accommodation time to complete your load.
If you’re staying in a larger town or city, there will likely be laundry facilities if your hotel doesn’t provide a laundry service.
Laundry facilities are less available on our hut and alpine trips. Some helpful tips are to bring quick-dry materials, such as polyester and wool, on-the-go detergent to wash in the sink, and a sink stopper. Dr Bronner’s 18-in-1 travel-size soap is a great tool to bring with you on the trail. A small quick dry towel or microfiber towel is also a great way to roll up and ring out excess water, so your clothes dry faster. Many huts have drying rooms to help dry your items. A small hairdryer, offered or carried with you, is also a great way to dry your items.
